In 1904 Joseph Baumgartner left his home in Iowa and headed east to set up shop in Camden, NJ. The draw? Camden's excellent water; some of the best in the country. The Camden County Beverage Co. became a Tri-State staple, and that water became the foundation of their lager's superior flavor – known to local workmen as the coolest, most refreshing beer around.
The Brewery's sordid history is packed with tales of rival bootleggers, employee lawsuits, racketeering charges and other shenanigans – finally closing its doors for good in 1960.
We like to think the rebellious spirit of this t-shirt matches Camden's modern-day tenacity and grit – it's just a hell of a lot softer.
